About The 5OS Project

This is essentially our ‘Home Brand’.   We make these wines ourselves and farm out others to mates, with the intention to create a range of wines that have heaps of drinkability but not at the expense of varietal, regional and vintage characteristics. They should also look the part, embracing the talent of the respective artists whilst encouraging them to find their own beat.

The 5OS Project Nero Blend 2018

Italy meets Portugal Down Under: Nero d’Avola (40%), Touriga (20%), Durif (20%), Sangiovese (10%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). “No fewer than 4 varieties join forces in this tiny-batch red. Where to start? The approach I came up with was to focus on what it is like, not what goes into it.” Steve Grimley, Winemaker & Proprietor

Aromatics: Plum, dried herbs and a touch of cedar wood
Palate: Medium-bodied, savory but with plenty of fruit intensity. Ripe tannins.
Finish: An overall balance of savouriness and fruit intensity
Cellaring: It will drink well into this decade
