THE 5OS PROJECT 2018 PINOT NOIR
Colour: Medium to light ruby softening at the edges
Nose: more feminine that the Soaring Kite… still rocking that citric line, although a little harder to draw anything out right now. Not as lifted, shall we say. Black fruits dominate, showing black cherry, blackberry with earthy five spice and a lick of vanilla. Candied orange again… touch of savouriness.
Palate: weightier, richer, more serious stuff. Great intensity of fruit and long follow through. Strawberry, redskins and cranberry building into blackberry and spice. Cooling and refreshing. An altogether note serious version of the above with added drinkability. More about the fruit and purity of such. Well managed oak no showing off. Clean and crisp. Structurally great for the now-mid term. Not ultra complex but who cares? Great wine.
