About The 5OS Project

This is essentially our ‘Home Brand’. We make these wines ourselves and farm out others to mates, with the intention to create a range of wines that have heaps of drinkability but not at the expense of varietal, regional and vintage characteristics. They should also look the part, embracing the talent of the respective artists whilst encouraging them to find their own beat.

The 5OS Project Nero 2018

This is a bit like that old ad with the Dentist and his Toothbrush, we love this wine so much we planted the variety at our winery… That said we also planted Garganega and we only think we’ll love that. There’s no doubting the Vineyard pedigree for this wine, genuine dress circle Barossa and a proper grower as well. The Winemaking was pretty unadventurous, which I guess makes sense with both a variety you know bugger all about and smoking fruit. Bottles of this seem to pop up at more lunches around here than Kochy, of which there can be no better acclaim. Steve Grimley, Winemaker & Proprietor

Aromatics: Jubey red fruits, ripe Cherries and Dark Chocolate
Palate: Plenty of fruit, chalky tannins with abundant sweetness bound in mocha and spearmint
Finish: Grainy tannins linger on, contradictory in a way as its so silky and rich
Cellaring: Best before 2028
