The 5OS Project 2016 Vermentino
This is about as alluring a looking wine as you can imagine, the bright green hues makes it look a bit like clarified lime juice. I expected it to be a bit neutral, but there’s heaps fennel/aniseed and warm lemon like aromas, the palate is a touch on the thin side at the moment but I expect this will build by the time the sun’s out and in the meantime there’s plenty of nice peely, mandarin flavours and some welcome phenolic grip on the finish. Super easy drinking, there’s plenty of warm arvo’s ahead when this will be a more than welcome table guest.
