The 5OS Project 2016 Barbera
Lovely and bright in the glass, not as opaque as I was expecting but lively with hints of toffee and flowery herbs. It smells like it's going to be savoury, in a good way. Super fresh, almost like it's straight from the press, it's clean and forward with the acid in the front row but there is a wall of cool fruit sitting really close behind that when the music dies down will no doubt take to the stage. If you like them young, fresh and full of potential you'll love this - SG on 13/6/18.
100% Barbera from a top vineyard site in McLaren Vale. Two-a-day pump-overs until fermented dry, following which the wine spent 14 months in neutral French oak hogsheads. (14%ABV)
