The 5OS Project 2012 Shiraz

In stock

Label says we have at least 5 years from release in 2015 so here, mid ’17, I’m expecting a puppy…. colour is good albeit showing signs of waning, alluring aromatics with creamy oak wrapping dark, warm, chocolate covered fruit. More of a Labrador on the porch than a puppy but a nice start. I like the front palate, it's soft and generous but it leads to a bit of a saline twang that shortens the finish and takes away from the overall drinkability. I struggle with it a bit as a stand-alone wine, although I’m sure it would be much more appealing with a Sunday roast smothered in gravy. I finish it thinking I’m being a touch harsh.

SG score 7.5/10
