Honey suckle, citrus, green apple, roasted nuts on the nose, while the palate is precise and linear. Green apple and citrus lead the charge. a hint of creaminess at the back. Cashew and lemon curd.
Quality Chardonnay fruit from two top vineyard sites in Adelaide Hills, fermented in older French oak and left on yeast lees to build complexity and richness in the wine. The wine remained in French oak post fermentation for 9 months with occasional lees stirring, before bottling (13%ABV)
SILVER and 93-points: 2018 Adelaide Hills Wine Show. 89-points: The Real Review (Huon Hooke) "Light to medium straw-yellow colour, with a strong barrel-ferment aspect to its characterful bouquet; there's an almost marzipan-like note to its almond meal aromas. The palate is ample and rounded, full in the mid-palate and savoury, with lots of oak input. Generous character and flavour for the price."
