Colour: This looks absolutely spot on in the glass, bright and black, proud as punch. The 3rd vintage from this site up on The Range. Nose: Aromas of warmed spices, herbs, purple flowers and flash French oak leap from the glass. Palate: A lovely fruit ripeness interwoven with almost tingling tannins each locking horns for supremacy…. in time they’ll be holding hands on a stroll. Awesome cool climate Shiraz, top notch and it's only going to get better over the next 3 or 4 years and no doubt well beyond.
Vineyard: Top quality Shiraz fruit from the single vineyard Darwin Vineyard in Adelaide Hills. Winemaking: Two pump overs per day during fermentation, fermented on skins to dry. 14 months in a mix of neutral American and French oak hogsheads, 20% new French oak. Vegan friendly. (14.5%ABV)
93-points: The Real Review (Huon Hooke) "Deep, dark red/purple colour, with a cherry-plum-spice and chocolate and vanilla oak infused bouquet. The wine is full-bodied and elegant, softly-textured, fleshy and rounded, with succulent flavour and fruit-sweetness aplenty. Lovely drinking and will age well. Delicious - and amazing value"
