Soaring Kite 2016 Pinot Noir
Dark enough without being super bright, the hues are fresh, purple and youthful ensuring it looks the part. Brooding, spicy aromatics, with a hint of Cardmon and some red fruits sitting under the faintest of ‘earthy nice funk’
The palate is wrapped in a crisp acid profile, weight and length are good, especially as it opens up in the glass, a short spell in a dark cellar will be a friend on this as well. Ripe without cloying, it’s at the flavoursome end of the Pinot spectrum, juvenile and a bit wonky in ways but a nice drink and terrific value.
