Marsc Wine Co. Unmasked 2016 Syrah

(5/5 stars)
Rated 5.00 out of 5 based on 3 customer ratings
(3 customer reviews)

In stock

Colour: Impressively dark maroon.
Nose: Complex aromas of black cherry, green bell pepper, fig jam, white pepper and spice leap from the glass - all characteristic of top-flight, cool climate Syrah.
Palate: rich and generous, with ultra fine tannins. Silky and long, this deliciously smooth Syrah is a class act.

This Syrah was grown in an elevated vineyard just outside Echunga, a site widely regarded as one of Adelaide Hills’ finest. Handpicked and fermented in small open-top vats, the finished wine remained on skins for 17 days post ferment maceration before being pressed to large format French oak barrels. (14.5%ABV)

GOLD: 2018 China Wine & Spirit Awards 95-points, Bob Campbell MW, 2018 92-points, Huon Hooke, 2018

An absolutely ripping cool-climate Syrah. For this price you’d want to be loading up. Bell-pepper, red and black fruits, judicious oak. Has some time left.

This is delicious – complex, punchy and bit smokey.

Excellent wine and one of the best I have ever had.
