Loom SV 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon

Loom SV 2016 MV Cabernet Sauvignon DOM
Colour: Deep purple with garnet edges Nose: Heady black fruits with earthy tones at the back and a hit of dried mint. Palate: Richly robed Cabernet from a top vineyard in the McLaren Vale region. Old vine fruit has lent complex black cherry and bramble notes, with a distinct herbal hit and spicy edge toward the end. Big and bold yet perfectly balanced - a smart movement away from the rasping versions of WA and Coonawarra... Not that there's anything wrong with those wines at all!
Vineyard: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon fruit from Nat McMurtrie’s single Cabernet site in McLaren Vale. Winemaking: Fermentation took place on skins in 2 tonne fermenters with two pump-overs daily until dry. The wine was then transferred to neutral, 225L French oak barriques for 12 months to build complexity. Vegan friendly.
