Loom SV 2014 Sangiovese
Nice brightness to the colour, with captivating aromatics of stewed rhubarb, raisons, prunes etc. There’s the steeliness through the palate I often associate with Sang, it's strange but nice amongst all this jubey sweetness. Just as you sink into this the chalky, almost grainy tannins rip in, drying out the palate and leaving you scratching your head wondering if you’ve found your go to or gift wine. Not sure I could drink the bottle, but the glass was nice - 20/8/17.
100% Sangiovese fruit from Nat McMurtrie’s award winning single site in McLaren Vale. Fermentation took place on skins in 2 tonne fermenters with two pump-overs daily until dry. The wine was then transferred to a mix of French and American oak for 14 months to build complexity. (14.5%ABV)
